My i9100 has a problem whereby it continues to cross-contaminate the photo magenta cartridge with one of the cyan inks leaving it purple. I need some advice. Canon was no help.

are you using canon inks. sounds like a faulty ink tank allowing ink to flow out. i would replace the offending cartridges and start over.

you can also safely remove the ink head (and all cartridges), run it under gentle cool running water and flush out the colors to remove the contamination. just be careful handling the head and dry it carefully (just dab with a soft cloth) and then reinsert the ink tanks.

Roxtar,

As Tim said, start simple by replacing the ink tank. Then wash the ink head with distilled water to make sure nothing is in the water. You might try Media Street's Jet Jrano: flushing/cleaning/purging fluid, mediastreet.com.

At least the Canon's print head is a user replaceable unit.
