For some reason I can find absolutely no info on the Canon i6500. Is that because it simply sucks, or is there some other reason one should stear clear of it?
I realize it won't give results like the R1800, but I'd like to at least know what it is capable of before ditching it, because it is apparently damn cheap compared to the other wide printers.

I don't think we get them here in the US but based on the specs it has some problems:

1) BCI-3 tanks
2) 5 pl Drops

This is old tech which will not give you very good pictures by todays standards, the 3 series tanks are not as good in color renditionand the 5pl number is very old by todays standards (the Pixma are mostly 1 and 2 pl).

It probably is an OK printer for office/presentation work but probably would not be a good solution for a photographer (IMHO).
