I am looking to buy an A3 photo printer. My requirements are:

1. Excellent colour prints.

2. Long life prints (many 10s of years).

3. Reasonably robust prints that will withstand normal handling.

4. I will use the printer as an experienced amateur and as such it may stand idle for days or even weeks at a time. I don't wish to put up with nozzle clog or waste time and expensive ink in excessive cleaning routines.

5. A street price in the £ 350 range.

My short list is HP 8750; Epson R1800. However, from reading this forum and from various reviews, I gather that the 8750 prints smear very easily and that the R1800 nozzles would block frequently with my usage.

Anybody got any worthwhile suggestions?
