I've got the Canon i9900 printer. It has worked great for over a year. Lots of prints on it. I'm currently trying to print some text on 4"x6" photo paper. Same size and paper that I've used for hundreds of photos. I keep getting smudges on the corner of each print. I have ran the cleaning and it got better for a few prints, then started again. Ran cleaning again and same thing, a few good prints then smudges again.

Does someone know of any website etc that shows how to clean this printer better? My old Epson 1270 used to require some Q-tips, folded paper towels and windex every so often and it cleaned it up great. Wondering if something similar would work on this printer?

Is the foam that is under where the print heads run accross supposed to pretty well soaked with ink?

I don't see anything on the rollers that would seem to be bad enough to cause this. It is just happening on the end of the print on the corner nearest the center of printer. Just on that corner, not on any other of the rest of the paper.

Any suggestions to clean this would be greatly appreciated!

i don't know if this will be much help but i had a similar problem. i printed a lot with the printer and could see that the foam tray in the bottum looked loaded to the max. i finally started to get a no print error and lucky for me i had bought an extended warranty and was able to get a new printer for free. the only issue i have with this one is the preprint image is really pixalated. as you can see in a post i made here.

my old printer smudged a few times before it went bad on me. if you print a lot it may need a professional cleaning
