We saw this little bear cub in Cades Cove in the Smokies last week. There were two other cubs running around also. Mama bear was nowhere to be seen, but she had to be close:shock:

The lighting conditions for this shot were just plain horrible. It was just after sunrise with very thick tree canopy above. Shot ISO 1600 1/40 sec f4.5 and lots of photoshop and neat image work:G

Enjoy

its a great shot I know its not for critiques but i might say you just forgot the rule of thirds here, its really dead center to me and out of center of interest. i am not an expert but for me honestlymany things distruct my eyes when i look at this, i may suggest to crop itto give more effect to your subject. blur other things so that your eye will lead directly to your subject. i might be wrong about this. thanks for posting and sharing

i edit my first post try to editit hope you dont mind croping your image. i am not quite sure aboutthis too.i hope it works.

I like the original - shows baby bear small in the big woods.

Both perspectives work very well although I'm with Tigerwings and favor the little cub in the big woods original.

Thanks all for the replys.

I know I did not follow the rule of thirds on this one.(sometimes rules are ment to be broken!!!) But, as tiger and KEM noticed,I did that to show the small size of the cub in the big dark scary woods:G

PS. It was just a treat to see the cubs playing around in the wild at this close of a distance
