I spent a day watching the Rut at a well known spot where red deer can be spotted, we were in luck! and when walking the perimeter of the woods, i was thrilled to be able to get these shots of stags resting in the woods.

Great shots, Barklass! Especially, since they are looking directly at you! I have a question though, the third shot, you called a "curious HIND"? is hind the word for a female or a young one? Here in the States, we call them a doe or a yearling .... not sure about red deer although I'm very interested especially seeing the post that "mattobr" sent the other day entitled "the judges" ...maybe you have seen it.

Thanks for the posts!
