Very nice series, Dennis! Just looked for the 1st in my NG field guide ...WOW there's a lot of sparrows native to North America! My guess would be a savannah sparrow...kinda hard to tell from the shot. Just wanted to throw this out there ... I believe the turkey vultures are trying to fatten up for their winter migration. The way that I understand it is that as lakes & rivers in Canada begin to freeze up, the bald eagles begin to move south & the vultures don't get along with eagles so they stay ahead of them. To me, it doesn't make sense since vultures stay around rural areas looking for roadkills & eagles hang around rivers & such looking for fish.:?But, at least around here, the vultures will be getting scarse in a couple of weeks & about a month later, we start seeing bald eagles return for the winter. Ok, I'll shut up now!

Thanks for the post Dennis!

Ron
