I needed some exercise so I decided to do an extended period of hand holding the 500mm with and without the 1.4x TC. It actually helps stengthen my arms and neck. For some reason I was a bit shakier than normal. The gulls in flight were a bit too fast for me most of the time. Here's a few so-so shots.

1. A extremely timid song sparrow, I think,allowed me 3 shots.

5. Canada goose landing. Caught it out the corner of my eye and was able to turn and get a couple shots off.

They don't look shaky to me! And I love the crow chasing photo - so much action. The hawk in flight is great too! Love them all.

The Goose came up really well and sodid the gull. Good practise indeed.
