a couple of shots of a belted kingfisher i saw at the park last weekend... these little fellas are very skittish, and won't let you get close. this one flew off before i could get closer than about 25 yards.

Very nice shots. No kidding these guys are skittish. I have been trying for about 5 years to get a shot of one of these guys. I am green with envy.

Steve, that has been my experience with these guys, too. I think most close-ups of them are done from a blind.

That's pretty good considering how hard it is to get close. I have one that now "allows" me to get within 50 yds.
