I can't get enough of these beautiful ducks!











Now the following aren't that great by my own admission... we just don't see these Northern Shovelers around here in the wintertime, they usually just pass through on their way south or in the spring back up north... so I was happy enough to be able to get a few low light images.

I'm new to this forum, an avid birder and blossoming photographer. I've learned a ton in the last two weeks slinking around the different forums. To the point, I love these Wood Duck photos. I really like the framing/composition. And from a naturalist perspective, I love the shot of the female with her brood. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks Bob, Dan Dad371! I just take alot of pride in getting a decent angle on the subject with the light at my back if possible... think about composition while I'm setting up the shot and hope to gahd that he doesn't fly away too soon.

I like the shoveler pictures as much as the wood ducks. Maybe because we don't seem to have them were I am.
