It was below zero this morning when I woke up and sitting in a home with the thermostadt set at 69 didn't sound too great. :lol: I packed the camera gear and my blind and hit the road to a new location and was plesantly surprised.





Being that it was so cold, the water was quite steamy and made it difficult to focus... here is something we just don't see in the winter around here as they go south... A Greater Scaup!







Then I pulled out my "mouse squeeker" and was able to draw in this Redtail hawk for a quick look.



Man I wish those Scaup pics were sharp.

Those Wood Duck shots are absolutely fabulous Mike!! Best I've seen. The rest ain't too shabby either.....cheers...Don

I'm in agreement! Mike those Wood duck shots are fantastic! I love the colors.. not just in the duck but in the whole scene. Just Beautiful!

As for the Scaups.. I took some very similar photos of Coots landing this weekend.
We think very much alike...

Setting at home with the thermostat set at anything isn't as great as getting out for some pictures. Which are very nice BTW. Love the flight shots.
P.S. My thermostat is set to 67 and it's only in the 50's here. Your cold must be different.:G
