Boy, was I glad for sunshine today. No glass between me and my bird.I didn't have to do much of anything to this one. I forgot to use Unsharp mask...does it need it? Thanks for looking and comments. Donna

Fantastic!! In my opinion it probably would look even better with the USM, but it is excellent even without it. Way to go!

Very nice - I find this to be a difficult bird to photograph. The white feathers aren't easy.

Thanks Bob and Jim. Can't wait for warmer weather and Hummingbirds! Of course my "grail" is a cardinal. Donna

Just adorable. The shadows make him look like he's pouting - Spring isn't coming fast enough for him - or for us!! Great photo. I think I'd like USM - give it a shot and post again!

That's a wonderfully sharp eye and beak. Can we just skip February and tax day then go straight to the birds and spring?

D, your improving fast!! I sharpen everything out of a digital camera, the levels of how much I sharpen/USM vary however. On most bird shots like yours I use these settings.

Amount: 120%

Radius: 0.2 pixels

Threshhold: 0

try it, see what you think. :-)

That's the USM ticket right there Donna! Anytime you can see the gleam in their eye(s) is the time to shoot! Cheers, Dan
