It was a cloudy, snowy and bitterly cold day... I had some assistance from my SB 800 speedlight flash unit.

Nice series. #1 doesn't look cold to me. #2 & #3 do have a its cold look to me.

Absolutely wonderful shot of the RB woodpecker!! Beautiful depth and detail!
And as much as I detest Starlings you captured this guy in a composition that I just can't stop looking at. I like everything about it - the snow, the birds ruffled iridescent feathers and that pose really set it off!

Three great exposures, my favourite being #2, the european starling. Why is he so "rugged" - I have never seen a starling like that. Brrr

Hello Torgny, it was soo cold here and I think he made a mistake of going into a heated bird bath and when he left it froze up on him, it was also a snowy day. One more from today... A Bluejay.
