Default Ringlet

Ringlet Butterfly on Arthurs Seat. Not as bright as some but I like the texture.

Frank,

Thank-you, I'm glad that you like it. It's a good time for butterflies (and Burnet Moths) on Arthur's Seat.

Very striking photo, and loved the contrast between the insect and the purple flower. Except for the slightly overexposed tip of the flower, you have a great shot.

Aloha.

Thanks Selvin,

The tip of the flower is fine on the original shot, but I applied some general exposure compensation in Nikon Capture in order to brighten the butterfly. I may have been better using Photoshop and "dodging" the flower head, or settled for for slightly less compensation in capture....
