1. GBH flight shot. I liked this one because of the shape of theshadow underneath thewings.

great series! we don't have the tri-colored herons and ibises up this way, though we of course have GBH's and kingfishers... speaking of which, how did you get so close to that one? the closest i've been able to get is about 25 yards. they're super-skittish, and won't let people within decent camera range - even for a 400mm lens!

I'm with Rocky, great series. Rocky's gotten closer than I have to the Kignfisher. Tell the truth, it was a mounted Kingfisher stuck on a branch wasn't it? Come on make me feel better. :lol:

That is a fantastic shot of the Kingfisher. You lucky dog.

Houston tht is a nice series. My favorite is #4. I have never seen one but it sure looks like one cool bird to me.

Nice shots, Houston. You nailed the Kingfisher pretty well.A tough bird to get, for sure.
