Sharp-Shinned Hawk



I thought this was a Red Tail until I looked at it on my computer. The bright afternoon sun was making it difficult to expose properly. #2 is +3 exposure compensation.

Hi Jeff, I think you got a Red- sholder hawk there. Sharp-shinned has a long narrow tail and is only a little larger than a jay smaller than a crow. They are hard to expose with the sun above.

Looking at the pictures in my bird book they look very similar, although the size is not.
