I guess this guy was about 10m from me. He knew I was lurking him, so when I retrived myself from the lens and examined the LCD for the image, he flew away. My understanding of the heron and egret is that they look at you and examinewhatyou intend to do beforetaking the next step to react.

Another thing is about the 1000mm. Due to its small f11aperture, good lighting is required for decent images to be possible.
