This blue jay was determined to get its share of seeds fromour feeder. My wife and I were enjoying watching it trying to hang on and eat. This is the first time we'veever seen blue jays at any of our feeders. I hope this is going to become a trend. Cheers, Dan

I hope so, too. Corvids (crows and jays) have been hard hit by West Nile virus, although I don't know that it has made it to your part of the continent yet.

For some reason we don't have jays locally where I live, but a wandering Scrub Jay came through our yard once and stayed just long enough to teachour House Finches that apples are good to eat -- we haven't had a decent crop since.
