A little overexposed in the tail feathers and the bottom white part of the ocean is a bit of a distraction from the subject as I see it. I do think that the gull is well captured and in great focus.

I'm with Martin on the first one - you burned some highlights! Maybe spotmetering or CenterW. on the bird and some some correcting on the background, when you got back home.

I am with you guys... but handholding a 70-200 f/2.8 (~320 mm) to follow a fast moving bird is a challenge in itself! ops:

... I don't know, the original inclusion of the wave conveyed some sense of speed whereas cropping it out made the seagull kind of glide (I tried dodging the bottom tier out, but turned it into muddy water instead :P)!

Now it looks just like the US Postal Service logo :lol: :lol: :lol:

IMO the best thing about your work was the darkening of the photo as a whole. Especially the bird, now, show more details!
The wave should be cropped away!
