spotted this little fellow hunting for supper among the lily pads this evening, and managed a number of shots. he was only about 30 feet away, and didn't seem to mind my presence... 30D with Sigma @ 400mm, various exposures...

thanks, Bynx... the Sigma 80-400 has certainly served me well - and it helps that i have a location to shoot where the birds - at least some of them, anyway! - are much less skittish than the general population...
