Below are a few of the humpbacks we were fortunate to see near Hoonah and Pt Aldolphus in late July. First breeches we have seen in Alaska.

The second one is the classical view; the first is unusual in being early enough in the leap to still be carrying so much spray/splash with it. Must have been quite a thrill to see these. Nice captures.

Not sure why the photos printed side by side instead of underneath? I also tried to post two others but it would only do two. Is that due to the file size limit?

Probably has to do with the spacing of the links - make sure they are on separate lines with a space between. Post your other twoas a reply and they will appear in the same thread.

This posting photos is driving me crazy. After about 6 more attempts, I got these two in here. I couldn't find any blank screen it would let me put pointer in to paste where it should be or even to write this at top of post rather than here!!! Thanks for the comments on the shots. It was indeed an incredible time on the water. We saw at least 8-10 breeches by same whale, plus 20 tail slappings and flipper pounding. We then raced back towards Hoonah to catcha the bubble feeding. The next week I was there and saw lots of whales but none of this behavior!!! Sorry I don't know how to post the double wide first post.
