The grey herons are gradually passing by Hong Kong for their southerly migration. Here is one of them about 90m away. Look very tired. Taken with a 1000mm reflex. Focusing and stabilization are difficult, but the reach it can provide balances it off.

nice vertical composition. a 1000mm lens must be very challenging to keep steady, but your shots come out excellent.

Yeah, you are right. The professional use theGimbal headto stabilize their big guns. I use the Manfrotto one for mine, which is much cheaper but, in my view,equally good. Thanks for viewing and giving comments.
