Having been close to extinction on England the Red Kite is now a common site in the Chilterns. Mind you, if you see one, by the time you've got your camera the bugger has gone!

I took this photo today. I think it could have been sharper but it's a lot better than most of my blurry Kite photos.

Wow, that a gorgeous shot. I know what you mean about having to be quick. We have White tailed kites here and they are the same way. I have yet to get a decent shot.
I notice that this birds been tagged. It that part of a monitoring program due to it's endangered status? It's a very handsome bird and you did a great job.

wow. nice capture. it must have been a real treat to have seen this kite flying free in the wild.
