There is some might peculiar stuff going on with that bird. A lot of noise all over it. You might try resending it.

I think the wavy light bands on the plumage are not noises but rather they were the results of differentrates ofreflectionfrom the shinyplumage. This effect is especially obvious when fill in flash had been applied. The same is true for using flash on shiny silk or nylon cloth.

That's an excllent shot of a very beautiful bird. Perfectly exposed to my eyes. I've never seen one of these birds and now, because of your post, I have. Which Olympus camera did you use?

I use the Nikon D200; however, I use the Camedia softwareof the Olympus to transfer images from my D200 and to view images as well. This software is pretty user friendly, so despite not using the C5050 for over4years, I am still using the Camedia for image treatment.

The shot I posted was shot with a Nikkor f4 300mm. Fill flash was by SB800, which was required as the bird was in the shadow. The ISO was 320, I think, probably at 400, I am not sure.
