A few moments ago I was admiring the blue jays in my feeder when this bird swooped in and scared them off. At first I thought it was a grackle, but I've never seen one with these kinds of markings on its wings and back. I consulted my Sibley's with no luck. Also, I checked it my binoculars and it looks like it has a band of some sort on one of its tail feathers.

This was a quick photo taken in low light so not as crisp as I'd like it but hopefully sufficient for an identification. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Dan

Thanks Sabine and Don - I thought about a RWBB too, but I'd never seen one so washed out before - or so late in the year. Dan
