Hey - these are great, and they might even qualify as low light - I don't see whyyou want to dump the K10.

Isn't there an NWR elsewhere in New Mexico that has a large wintering population of Sandhill Cranes? They even have (had?) a few fostered Whooping Cranes.

Hi penolta, thanks for the nice comment about my photos and for taking the time to look. IMHO they make the low light list for me.

I am not dumping the K10D set up. I am going to have two set ups available in my camera wagon so I can choose which I want according to the conditions.

I don't know of the location you are talking about. If you do find out let me know and I will see about heading that way.

That is Bosque del Apache NWR. Short distance south of Socorro, NM. A favorite destinationfor bird photographers. Would like to make that someday myself.

That is where I was, it is in the South Central part of New Mexico about a 4 1/2 hour drive from my place.

All are terrific: serene in composition, razor sharp and just right in exposure. I like the tone which hermatically seal with the theme for the posting- before breakfast. Thanks for sharing, Roger.
