I saw this Northern Harrier off and on throughout the morning when I was at Bolsa Chica. It would always be off in the distance and never got close enough. After awhile I figured out what it was interested in. There was an small rocky island out in the middle of the waterway, where a bunch of dowitchers and avocets were huddled. Every once in awhile it would swoop down and send them all flying off. I got into position as close as I could from the shore and waited. The harrier finally came back but was still quite a ways out there. These were all major crops, but I was happy to have gotten them.

Way to go Hung. Those are really excellent. The clarity is outstanding. The ocean background really brings out the details in the Harrier too.
Nice going,
Steve
