YOU Score- Buck Jump Olympics

When I saw this burst I was reminded of watching a contest in the Olympics. I am scoring the Buck Jump on a scale of 1 to 10.

Getting mentally ready for the jump.

Pre-jump = all four feet planted firmly= 10

Style for the start of jump = body extension with front legs back = 10

Mid jump = cleared the fence with out touching it = 10

Pre-landing = Back legs extended to miss the fence = 10

Landing = A little stumble = 8

Finish = Recovered from stumble with out falling = 9

Final score 9.5 This should be a medal winner

And now for the rest of the story

This old buck had about 6 does he was keeping together and the young buck was hanging around trying to steal a couple of them. I had seen them for a couple of days but could not get to a spot for a photo opportunity. I waited in a cedar bush and got lucky here come the does and the old buck and then on the other side of the fence the younger buck showed up. The old guy keep watching him until he got to close to the fence and that was to close to the does so he jumped the fence and run him off.

terrific series, Roger... an excellent job of capturing the sequence of action! and that's with your K10D and Bigma?? i think even the Mk III would be hard pressed to catch this any better... :G

I have to agree...that Canon outfit you're planning to get , sure is top notch...but it's going to be really hard to beat the K10D/Bigma combo you currently use.

I have to say, your pictures are invariably superlative. I just wish 1/10 th of my shots would approach what you do.

Phenomenal series...what great story to go along with the pix. I was thinking you could put this series on one of those digital frmes that rotate the pictures...or have the picutres printed and framed in a multi picture frame, like people use for family pictures.

Keep on posting your picture...they are an inspiration to us all.
