Good guess - it looks like that is what it is - a juvenile Gannet.Gannets are normally pelagic when not breeding (onshore in theNorth Atlantic), so a healthy one wouldn't be onshore in Florida (if that is where you took the photo).

we do get gannets here in the winter. however, this one is definitely injured as it didn't move while i was photographing it. i am going out soon to check on it. hopefully, it has flown off.
