Clearly the chickadee is all over and a very easy bird to find which makes it even more of a photo task to try to bring some uniqueness to shooting them. That is one of the many reasons that I love to experience these birds because I'm compelled to work with other dimensions besides the bird itself. Here are a few attempts from today at that task, thanks for having a look, as always.

Mark III and 100-400 or 70-200 canon

Hands up!

More hands up

Big rush

More traditional, but wide angle because I felt that the background was as important as the bird in this shot

Do chickadees get a snotty nose when it's cold?

The attitude of the bird is not traditional but I liked the result of the low light backfocus and the bird seeming to be almost meditating here

One more wide angle which I chose because I felt that the background was as important as the bird in this particular shot

Falling

Thanks for having a look, cheers all.

This is something I've been trying to do the past few weeks with the Chickadees and Nuthatches but I need to work on my timing.

Very nice series of photo's you have here.

Hi Norm. Interesting about the snotty nose shot. I watched a morning dove with a very snotty nose. It lasted about 4 days and then died. I think its a serious infection when they show that symptom. You have really captured the bird as Ive never seen before. Excellent.

Norm, it really becomes a challenge to take a common subject and make it unique, rather than just another shot of the same thing. You have been doing that with some of these fast little birds in flight or initial stages of that. Nice work!

There have beenmany very nice Chickadee photos, but you have succeeded tin bringing new life to a well-worked subject (maybe I'm just jealous because we just don't get them around here very often). Well done.
