On my outing yesterday, I came across what looked like a duck moving up this little channel with it's head under water. Turns out, the head was gone, and there was Mink dragging it. I wish I'd seen the catch, but unfortunately, all I got was the aftermath. Sorry if some of these are a little blurry. The light was bad, and I'd mistakenly had my Av setting at f/8. DUH!!.....cheers..Don

6....the Mink isn't eating the Duck at this point. It was dragging the Duck behind where he or she could enjoy it's meal without me or anyone else bothering it. This one's a little blurred...cheers...Don

Geez Don, I was having lunch when I viewed these pics - good thing I have a strong stomach.:?All kidding aside, looks like there were two catchesyesterday, both successful ones. Its always nice to be at the right place at the right time...err..except for the duck. Cheers, Dan

One of Nature's llittle dramas that often go unseen - it was great to get as much of it recorded as you did, and as well as you did. Mink and their relatives are voracious predators, never to be deterred by the size of their prey. These guys don't restrict their diet to mice!

Great catches on this series of predator and prey! The duck appears to have been eaten on before you caught this.
