3....now this nice looking Sandhill Crane was anything but nice. Just before I snapped this shot of it, it had taken a bite out of a lady walking by. Mind you, she just marched right up to it and past and the ol' Crane said "not so fast lady". Well she did go fast after it got her on the leg. It then was eyeing me up at a distance, and I decided to whimp out and go around it. I gather it was a he, but he was not in a good mood. I presume the mating season has begun for them...

Really nice shots, the crain shots got me excited cuz I am heading down to the Bosque for a couple of days of trying to get a few crane and snow geese shots.

Exceptionaljob on that Crane portrait ! Tack sharp and the exposure and color saturation are perfect. I've only seen these guys at a distance, wish I could get closer for a shot.

Hi Roger. Sounds like you're heading for the lowlands. Have a good time and hope you get some pictures of the geese and cranes. If the Cranes are in mating season, don't get too close...they can be real nasty...cheers...Don

Thanks Kent. This is the only location I've seen a Sandhill. None around my neighbourhood.....cheers..Don
