Today was my first chance to get to the refuge with good weather. Not much was happening. Now that hunting season is over the water fowl have all moved off the refuge into the rice fields. There were a good number and variety of hawks and eagles left. I tried a little experiment with my new D300. I got to the refuge just before sunrise and decided to shoot all the shots today at ISO 3200. That, BTW, is what these three raptor shots have in common. They were all shot at ISO 3200. They are in order, a juv. red-shouldered hawk, a juv. Red-tailed hawk and a juv. Bald Eagle. They're not gallery quality but I am posting them to show off the high ISO quality that this camera can deliver. Except for some cropping no other PP was done.
Thanks for looking,
Steve
