ok, first, I went out the other day and shot nothing but RAW, first time I had tried this with the K10D. I am now playing with processing these using a free program called Raw Therapee. I have all the others, Silkypix, Lightroom, and PPL but thought I would give this one a try.

Picture is of a snowy egret in breeding ploomage, I was using my trusty old Tamron 70-300mm DI

Very nice! You should be able to get a little more dynamic range using RAW, not to mention white balance is totally flexible...cheers...Don

great shot. the whites were well exposed. clean background. good sharpness on the eye.
