FINALLY got some sun this afternoon, so i went to the park and found this green heron. i watched him for about half an hour from less than 20 feet away, during which time he ate two fat tadpoles and at least three small fish... a hungry little heron indeed! 40D, 100-400L at various settings, various exposures...

a portrait shot... he was looking warily up at the juvenile bald eagle up in the cottonwood behind me...



after deciding the eagle was no threat, he started chowing down...

One Stickleback down the tubes! And ditto Kent's comment aboutthe wary eye. Very nice series.
