Here are a few shots from a local area with a history for me. The shallow pond encountered a tragedy a few years back when the entire pond dried up and many of the young were taken by coyotes during the dry spell. Because of this, last year no avocets or or any other waterfowl returned to the location. This year they have all returned en force, and it was a pleasure to see.

Mark III and 300/4 IS

One

Two

Three (This Marbled Godwit was a part of the "congregation" a few years back and it was a pleasure to see it return in all of it's vociferous glory)

One more fly by, not to be confused with a "drive by"

I appreciate you taking a look guys and gals, and it sure is nice to have some fresh subjects for a change. Cheers!

Great shots Norm! Glad you have the Avocet back to shoot again. I'm looking forward toseeingsome late afternoon (golden hour) shots like those you posted a few years back. Beautiful stuff!

Many thanks, Bob, I had a request in another forum for the full untouched jpg's so here they are if you or anyone else is interested.

Thanks again, buddy, your positive commentary is always something I appreciate very much. You are one of those "vets" who are inspirational to me. Cheers!

Thanks apple, the camera has taken a big trashing over the past year so I'm pleased with your compliment. Cheers!

Many thanks, Kent, I'll definitely do my best. I have rosy cheeks these days because I have so many wonderful subjects to photograph. It's such a pleasure after 6 months of snow blindness. :-)
