I had been following afamily of Downy Woodpeckers (posted here as Graduation Week) and wentfor a last timeknowing the young might have fledged by then, and they had, so with the camera in hand and time to kill, I went by Bolse Chica, and finally gotan opportunity to try the K100D and Tamron 70-300 LD combo on BIFs of wheeling and diving terns near their nesting colony (fast and close -- 20 - 30 feet -- under mostly overcast skies).

Thanks ellen. Sorry to not have replied sooner. I am reviewing old posts for missed comments.

Hung, I don't get there as often as I used to - have to avoid prolonged sun exposure (got too much over the years).
