It has been three years since I have been to the zoo. I decided to take my girlfriend and her daughter there for a day of fun and something we could all do. I did take my D200 with the 18-200mm VR lens.

Here are three shots I liked. Comments are encouraged and welcomed.

Mahalo,

Tom

The first one is a Jaguar that was sleeping but his peepers opened up while I was up on the glass with my lens hood on to keep it steady.

The second one is a bear cub that was having a great time rolling around and playing with his branch.

Aloha Tom,

Long time no see. Your exposures are perfect and the colors are rich. I, too, like the last photo the best. Your composition in framing those two guys with the branches was perfect.
Zoo's are fun places to be with a camera. My daughter worked for an accounting firm that audits the Oakland Zoo so we took a tour with her one time. It was awesome.
Nice work. Hope you all had a good time.

Your Cali friend,
Steve

Smac, thanks for the comments. Greatly, appreciated. I have yet to get my timing down in getting out to the reserve out there in Northern California. Hopefully, by then I will have the Tamron 200-500mm or the Sigma 150-500mm (if it ever sees the light of day).

Goldwinger, thanks for your comment.

Mahalo,

Tom

beautiful shots, tom. i don't have a favorite. they are all fantastic.

my only critique would be that the jaguar pic could be less yellow . . . imo.
