While I was taking some photo's at work this bright yellow bird was flying around while the sprinkler system was on.

I wasn't ready to take any bird photo's and had only a 75mm max zoom. These were a couple of shoot from the hip shots. Sorry for the bad quality. I was hoping someone could ID this bird.

It is a male Hooded Oriole. They breed locally - a grooup of three young ones haave been showing up in the vegetation in my yard recently, looking for caterpillars.

I've lived in southern California my entire life and I have never seen or even heard of Oriole's living in this area. It's a very pretty bird.

I'll have to try and get a shot with my big lens.
