Wet Look - Last Hummers

On and off rain showers this afternoon so in-between showers I went down to see if I could find a Rufus. I haven't ever seen one wet and I wondered what he would do if anything different. Lucky me a friend invited me over to his house so when the showers started I just went up the steps to his porch. This was so easy I even used my tripod. A first for my 500mm on a tripod instead of his home the (BushHawk)

Instead of a wave hello he stuck his tongue out at me. This is just before the rain started again.

He was hiding under a bunch of leaves and you can see his feathers are starting to get wet.

#3
A little wetter look.

#4
After the rain stopped and he could not find his hair dryer he tried the old shake them feathers to dry routine.

#5
Looks like the shake the feathers worked.

#6
Almost back to normal with his "Go Away" look

Enjoy, this is my last hummingbird post for a while I have to get ready to get photos for our train. They are going to have a special train that gets robbed this weekend.

Beautiful series. My favorite is the top one because of the wonderful colors in the throat. They are all really sharp.

Outstanding series, Roger! The 1st one is my favorite, but they're all great.

Impossible to pick a favourite but the second one of #4 does it for me. What a series! Well done Roger

WackyRoger

Technically brilliant. Unfortunately a bit anthropomorphizing. Birds cannot have a "look", neither can they stick their tongue out to a human. Unfortunately. Keep it up

I've taken several photos of hummingbirds, and they frequently have their tongue out, but I've never managed any hummer photos anywhere near that nice. Excellent work!
