I was at the cottagethis week and looked out the window early one morning to find this bird pecking at the ground. I rushed out with my camera and stalked it a bit. These are the photos that resulted. A northern flicker.

Very nice pictures of the Flicker. You have caught the beautiful pattern of the wings and I love the backgrounds, both the out of focus and the leaves.

Very nicely done.

really nice pics of a male and a female flicker. they are sometimes very hard to get.

Dan. So this is the Northern Flicker. Brilliant pictures all of them. My favourite is number 3. Couldn't help tweaking a bit to my own taste. Just a second take. A little bit gamma correction and a little less yellow saturation
