I had my sights set on loonsa couple of weeks ago and I was rewarded with the following, taken from the boat. Note the red eye and the slightly looking up position of the head.

Unperturbed by presence, this loon went about its business of looking into the water - only 5 feet deep where we were - and slipping under the waves in search of food. Welldidn't the sun of a guncome up with a really huge perch - I'd estimate at 8 or 9 inches long.
