I have admired many of the fantastic photos of ospreys that I've seen in this forum for a long time and wished I could see one. I kept reading that they could be found in Arkansas, but I had never seen one...till this weekend. The local fish hatchery got a visit from them this weekend....a visit I'd suspect about which I'm more pleased than the fish biologists. This guy modeled for me.

When he caught his fish, he brought it by for me to see

I went back out today, but shooting conditions for anything up in the air were terrible with a dark, gray sky and haze. However, there were a couple of Great Egrets that kept things interesting

All shots taken with the Pentax K20d and Sigma 50-500mm (Bigma)

Nice work Paul. I'm really digging that 1st osprey bif shot. Great eye contact and it looks sharp! I also like the Great Egret flyby. Looks like you upgraded your lens recently? I think you were shooting with a 70-300 before correct? Hope to see more shots soon.
