The overcast lifted around 1pm and when I saw sun outside I jumped in the truck and headed to the refuge. I was lucky enough to spot two of the three Bald Eagles that have taken up wintering at the refuge. One was flying west scaring up the geese as it flew and the other was in a big Willow tree plucking a Coot it had just caught. I didn't have a very good shot through all the branches but just when I was about to give up it took up the Coot and flew out and around and came right back to the same tree. As it did I was able to get some pretty decent shots as it came back directly into the sun. Sometimes it better to be lucky than good.

Too close to fit in the frame. What a terrible problem to have. Now you can really see the poor Coots big green feet.
