This adult sharp-shinnnd hawk has been hanging around the neighbourhood for the past several weeks. He/she paused long enough from hunting to pose for a snap. Canon 100-400 at 350mm, 1/1000 sec.

another snap. The hawk seemed to be looking about at the sound of the shutter going off.

Nice. Sometimes there is a benefit to a noisy shutter! There have been a number of Cooper's Hawks posted, but I recall only one other Sharp-shinned recently.
