Default Tree Swallows Abound

At this time of year, tree swallows are evident just about everywhere I look.

1. This is Biff, the resident male tree swallow on the peak of the roof of my...I mean his house.

3. It was an extremely windy day and I went looking for bluebirds along a stretch of road that has several nesting boxes along it. Didn't find any BBs, but had a lot of fun watching the tree swallows hanging on to anything they could find to keep from being blown away by the wind. This one assumed an aerodynamic stance as he faced into the wind. Cheers, Dan

I very much enjoy seeing your work, this is top notch stuff, the swallow hanging on the barbed wire is one of your best imo!

I agree with Bob H. Dan, your work has really kicked into another level. 1 and 3 are just plain excellent. I couldn't decide which I like more. The colors in one are terrific and the composition and look of number 3 is AWESOME and a half.
I guess I just picked #3 hehehe!
Nice job,

Steve

Thanks Tim and Steve. I appreciate your compliments very much. I have been working very hard to improve all facets of my photography. My digital workflow (an expression I didn't anything about two years ago) begins with the initial captures, then I review them at my workstation, do the triage and keep the obvious good shots as well as the "iffy" ones. Over the past few months I've acquired some excellent books on how to work with Adobe Camera Raw specifically for Adobe Creative Suite 3 (CS3), and CS3 itself. And a great book on how to get the best use out of my Nikon D300 - the Nikon manual being sadly lacking. And now that I'm retired (as of yesterday -yay!!! ) I will be spending more time afield. Thanks again, Dan
