Well, it's going all right, but the weather has been terrible. Rain, gusty wind, cold etc... I might need a weather proof camera.

This was really LOW for an eagle!! Seldom shot, I would guess.
Lucky shot, simple! Did he just pick up a prey?

Not much of a HDR-motive there, Simon.

Your EXIF data (for what its worth) says ISO 400, 60mm, 1/1600.

It's not a Bald Eagle, and I've never seen a Golden, but what else could it be?

I am green with envy over this shot, and never, ever, mention "out of focus wings," that just rubs salt into my wound of envy...

Awesome shot! Nice to see a view from above of the wing pattern. Maybe a young Golden Eagle? ...cheers...Don

Interesting angle and a cool shot. Maybe1st year juvenile Golden Eagle.

Now on second look, I think it's a Harris's Hawk. It's hard to get a sense of size. The Golden Eagles I have seen are Gigantic compared to all other hawks. The coloration of the shoulders and the white rump and white tip on the tail feathers suggest Harris's Hawk. Where's Penolta when you need em?

I just checked my Sibley and it is definately not a Golden Eagle. The color of the head and the markings around the eye are wrong. I would bet money on Harris's Hawk.
