Default Pond Resident

For the past 6 or 7 years this water snake has made my pond it's home. All summer been waiting to get some pics of it-I'd see it but not have my camera, then have my camera and not see it...finally...I was able to get a few quick shots of it. Few years back when just had a PS, got some pics of it swallowing a catfish....hoping for that chance again

Handsome little guy. Lucky he runs into you. Some people kill them on sight.

I used to have a relationship with a snake back when I was a kid. He used to try to steal the fish from my stringer. He never gave up...

Nice shot, I believe my buddy was the same species as yours.

Thank You on the photo.

Snakes are safe around my place, except for the cats but I dont kill them. Dont know how long this particular species lives, but this dude is getting pretty good size.

I am also a snake fan. Saw one today..a Western Plains Garter Snake. It was sunning itself on a trail by a small river in a river bottom forest. Kind of surprised, thought it would be hibernating by now....winter is coming.
