Default Nesting Killdeer

This past summer, I was extremely fortunate to find a killdeer standing guard over her eggs. At first there were only two eggs, but after a few days there were four. What follows are a series of shots taken over a few days. I had never been close enough to a killdeer before to get any decent photos most were unsatisfactory. But these close ups made me appreciate the colour and beauty of this remarkable plover. I hope you feel the same. Thanks for looking. Cheers, Dan

Great behavioral shots of a nesting Killdeer. Well done. I love that bird. We have them running all over the place at the Jr. high school were I teach. I have often thought that I should bring my camera and tripod and try to get some pics. Someday, I will. Thanks for the wonderful shots. Steve
