Default Railroad Fox

Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad Fox

My friend the railroad fox has decided since the railroad is shut down for the winter he will start using the railroad cars to enjoy the sun again this year. The railroad has moved the cars around this year so I am going to have to come up with a new plan to get some shots that I want. These were kind of fun cuz I had to shoot him thru a open window on a old boxcar rider gon. I am going to put on the snow shoes tomorrow and see if I can't build me a trail so I can get to a better spot for some shots.

I spotted him coming out of the woods with my binoculars and cuz of the tracks from previous days I knew or at least thought I know what flatbed car he was headed for so I got set up and waited.

1.
Checking things out when he first got on the flatbed car.

2.
Here is where he is laying down to enjoy the afternoon sun.

3.
Got him thru the open window on the rider box car

Hi Roger, some lovely shots. I love the contrast against the snow.

Lovely shot, what size telephoto did you use for the window shot?

Really like the one where he is looking toward you.

Outstanding! What a beautiful animal. I really like the foxyness of the first shot.

Those are great. I especially like #3 where it looks like he is looking right at you. What lens did you use?

Great Shots!

I also like the old cars and his shinny coat against the snow.
